The fifth annual Taste of Wisconsin will take place at 5 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, at Smith’s Manawa Steakhouse.

“When we began the Taste of Wisconsin, we wanted to host a fundraiser that was going to be attractive to people who may not be interested in the typical type of fundraisers,” said John Smith, who hosts the event with his wife Robyne. “We also thought this would be a way to showcase products that we could use in our business to better serve our customers, as well as get the names out of local businesses that provide services or products to this area.”

This year’s vendors include Ivory Wind with Strings Attached, Dupont Cheese, Sweet Queens Home Bakery, Mrs. W Beard Sprinkles, Pink Zebra, Stone Arch Brewery, Pigeon River Brewery, Wollersheim Winery and Door Peninsula Winery.

The event will also include basket raffles, card raffles and live auctions.

Ticket are $25 in advance and may be purchased at Smith’s Manawa Steakhouse and Take Charge Nutrition. Tickets are $30 at the door.

“If someone would like to join us at evening but will have difficulty finding time to purchase a ticket, we do hold the tickets on a credit card,” said Smith. “The guest can pay in cash when they arrive.”

Each person who purchases a ticket will receive a commemorative wine glass.

Limited tickets are available.

Proceeds from the event will go to Manawa Area Veteran’s Freedom Park.

“We decided to donate the proceeds once again to the Manawa Area Veterans Freedom Park,” Smith said. “We believe the work that is being done there to honor our veterans and their families has been nothing short of amazing, and with a need of about $250,000 to complete the park, we couldn’t think of a better charity at this time.”
