Karl Korth, age 78, Greenville, passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2018.

He was born in New London on July 17, 1939, son of the late Alfred and Elnora (Popke) Korth. Karl was baptized and confirmed at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London. On February 12, 1966, he married Judy Tennessen. They were married for 52 years. Karl was always proud to have said he was a veteran serving in the US Army in El Paso, Texas for four years as an instructor in the Hercules Nuclear Missiles. He was a life time member of the American Legion Post #55, Hortonville. When Karl was in the service he participated in many dance competitions at the Arthur Murray Dance Studies and won prizes for his dancing. When returning home from the service, Karl bought property in Greenville where he started his business Korth Body Shop and Towing Service, retiring after 46 years. His pride was in his tow truck; in 1987 he took second place in world competition with his large black tow truck, which made it on the cover of Tow Times Magazine. Karl was a long-time member of the Wisconsin Towing Association, Indiana Towing Association and the Illinois Towing Association. He was a Sunday school teacher at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Greenville in his early years and was a member of Greenville Civil Club. Karl was a volunteer fireman for 23 years, first with the Hortonville Fire Department and then in 1972 when Greenville formed its own fire department; he served as the assistant chief and for 17 years was Fire Chief. Karl was a member of the Future Farmers of America and was in 4-H, he was very proud of his pigs he would take to the Outagamie County Fair. One of the things he accomplished after retiring in 2015 was completely reading the Bible in a little over a year. All the awards and trophies he acquired in his life none can compare to the reward our Savior gave him when He took him up to Heaven.
