Nancy Jo Blank of Waupaca, formerly of Menasha, age 80, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018 at home with her family. She was born in Neenah on February 28, 1938 to the late Wilbert and Rose (Drexler) Hoerning. On August 11, 1956 she married LeeRoy Blank. Nancy was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She had been a Girl Scout leader and past president of WOMP. She was an avid golfer and took first place in a bowling tournament. Nancy came from a musical family, she played the accordion. She was a meticulous housekeeper. She enjoyed her flower gardens and trips to Northstar Casino. Once a month she loved meeting classmates for lunch and playing sheepshead.
She will be dearly missed by her husband, LeeRoy; daughters, Bonnie (Tom) Schneider and Becky Mach; daughter-in-law, Jackie Paulson; brother, Robert “Butch” (Gloria) Hoerning; grandchildren: Jenna (special friend, Joe Garcia) Schneider, Jordan Schnieder, Sarah (Ritchie) Rajkowski, LeeRoy Blank, Tabitha (Zach) Klatt, Kari (special friend, Troy) Gay, Tony (Samantha) Thorn, Danielle (Doug) Wheelock, Deavan (Anthony) Rhode, 22 great-grandchildren, special friends: Carol Kimball, Donna LaMarche, Jo Siebert, Tony and Bennie Slomski, Mike and Linda Muehrer; favorite pet, Katie; other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son, Terry Blank, two brothers and two sisters.
The Memorial Service will be on Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 206 E. Badger Street, Waupaca. The visitation will be on Wednesday at the church from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. The Maple Crest Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Alzheimer’s Association or Juvenile Diabetes Association.
