The Community Blood Center will hold its largest blood drive of the year at the Upper Shelter of Waupaca’s South Park.
CBC’s annual Waupaca MASH Blood Drive is scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 10.
“Summer is a busy time for many of our donors, and giving blood sometimes takes a backseat to other obligations,” said Kristine Belanger, vice president for donor services at CBC. “Combined with the fact that colleges and high schools are not in session, which accounts for about 500 donations per month, we have our work cut out for us to make sure that hospital needs are met.”
To meet that need, CBC is working to make its Waupaca MASH Blood Drive a memorable event for those who donate.
All who present to donate blood will receive a free T-shirt, lunch and refreshments, and will be eligible for a chance to win a $1,000 weekend package for The American Club in Kohler.
“We have donors who come out every year for this blood drive, and they look forward to it,” Belanger said. “But more importantly, this is an opportunity to save a life. Like we always say, it’s an everyday act of kindness. We all have blood, and we all need blood. So let’s share it.”
