Carlson, Donald E.

Donald Eugene Carlson, age 73, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, July 8, 2018, following multiple health issues at Greentree in Clintonville.

Don was born to the late Earl and Josephine (Lutz) Carlson on January 1, 1945 in New London. He was united in marriage to Darlene Bellile on December 18, 1978. She preceded him in death in 2015. Don farmed in the Shiocton area his entire life and was a member of the Big Red Club. He enjoyed “happy hour” and having a beer, watching the Badger games, taking trips and listening to country music. Don was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Don is survived by his children: Ryan (Jessica) Carlson, Dace (Cynthia) Carlson, Darin Palmer (fiancé Jackie Johnson) and Kristina (Eric) Palmer-Stamper; grandchildren: Jayden Carlson, Owen Carlson, Wyatt Erickson, Josie Erickson, Leah (Brian) Kern, Kimberly (Cory) Huettl, Jared Colwitz, Jeremiah (Cara) Johnson, and Jenalle (Mike) Behnke; great-grandchildren: Landon Kern, Mason Kern, Alyson Kern, Jessa Huettl, Adeline Huettl, Emma Huettl and Gabriel Behnke; siblings, Dennis (Genie) Carlson, Carol Rettler (Gerald Uhlenbrauck) and Ken (Shinobu) Carlson and in-laws: Dale (Sally) Bellile, Sandy (Gerald) Wolfgram, Dennis Bellile, David (Diane) Bellile, Don Bellile and Debbie (Tom) Kling. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Don was preceded in death by his parents; wife Darlene; siblings, James Carlson and Janice Carlson; special uncle Glenn Carlson; and father and mother in-law, Alfred and Virginia Bellile.

The funeral mass for Donald will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Borchardt Moder Funeral Home in Shiocton. Visitation will take place on Monday, July 16, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. at the funeral home in Shiocton and again from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday. Deacon Ken Bilgrien will be officiating. Burial will be in Danish Cemetery in the Town of Deer Creek. A memorial fund has been established.
