Boehm, Mary J. (nee Popke)

Mary Jane Boehm, age 88 of New London, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at ThedaCare in Appleton.

Mary was born on May 2, 1930 in New London to the late Edward and Kathryn (McDermott) Popke. She graduated from New London High School and St. Mary’s School of Nursing in Green Bay. Mary worked as an RN at New London Community Hospital for nine years and then Appleton Medical Center for 30 years. She retired in 1992. After retirement, Mary loved to volunteer, especially at her parish Most Precious Blood Catholic Church.

Mary is survived by her daughter Michele (John) Hutchison, New London and son Brian (Katie) Boehm, Brown Deer; grandchildren, Christopher (Trish) Hutchison, Jacob Hutchison, Hanna Hutchison, Emily (Jeff) Schicker and Sara (Paige) Boehm; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Brianna (Elias) Vargas, Codie, Gavin, Carver and Piper Hutchison, Liam Boehm and Jaxson Schicker; great-great-grandsons, Owen and Alano; and a sister Marge Dreier. She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brother Don; sister Rosellan; granddaughter, Shelly Hutchison and nephews, Peter Beyer and David Popke.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mary will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church in New London. Fr. John Kleinschmidt will be officiating. Visitation will take place at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday. Burial will be in Most Precious Blood Catholic Cemetery.
