Drug bust in Little Wolf

Officers seized 13 ounces of pot from a 71-year-old man.

John D. Chaplin is charged with felon in possession of a firearm, possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, maintaining a drug trafficking place, illegal possession of prescription drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was released from custody after posting a $2,000 cash bond.

At 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, Waupaca County law enforcement executed a search warrant at Chaplin’s home on Swan Road, in the town of Little Wolf.

According to the criminal complaint, officers found 380 grams of pot in 19 plastic bags, some prescription drugs, drug paraphernalia and nine firearms.

Chaplin told police his son was storing the guns at his home, the complaint says.

Chaplin was convicted of felony marijuana charges in March 1993.

He faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
