He was a scholar at heart, intensely curious and deeply knowledgeable about a wide variety of arts and sciences including classical literature, baroque music, antiques, nature conservancy, and gardening. Buzz loved fishing, pipe smoking, watching the Packers, and having interesting and deep conversations. Robert led a passionate spiritual life as a staunch traditional Catholic for many years.

Robert will be lovingly remembered by his two daughters, Ellen (Peter) Demerath and Julia (Ram) Kulkarni. He will also be deeply missed by his four grandchildren, Olivia, Shiv, Sophia, and Arjun, and his many friends and former patients.
