Clintonville firefighters were called out to 135 Flora Way, located south of Bucholtz Park, shortly before 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 12.
When they arrived, they found the flames pouring out of two of the windows of a mobile home where Christopher Miller and Stephanie Schweitzer and their three small children lived.
According to the Clintonville police, the children had already been dropped off at school and day care by the mother and were not in the home at the time.
The father was at home with the family dog when the fire was discovered. Both were able to get out safely.
The home was a total loss. Everything the family had was lost in the blaze.
The American Red Cross was contacted for assistance.
The family is in need of clothes and toys for the girls, ages 4, 8 and 9. Their sizes are 8, 10 and 12. The father needs shirts size 4X and pants in the area of 52 (tall). Donations can be delivered to the lobby of the Cobblestone Inn and Suites or sent to 175 Waupaca St., Clintonville, WI 54929.
Investigators with the fire and police departments determined that the origin of the fire was behind a washing machine and is believed to be electrical in nature. No foul play is suspected.
