The Trucker varsity football team suffered a 7-42 defeat at the hands of the Ripon Tigers on Friday, Sept. 6.
Clintonville kept it close in the first quarter by scoring a touchdown and extra point, while holding Ripon to one touchdown and a two-point conversion. Ripon led 8-7 after one quarter.
In the second quarter, the Tigers scored 14 points while silencing the Trucker offense. The score was 22-7 at halftime.
Ripon added 14 points in the third quarter and seven in the fourth quarter while denying the Trucker offense any points.
Clintonville rushed for 96 yards on 30 attempts. The Truckers completed one of eight passes for 14 yards. The Truckers fumbled once and threw two interceptions.
The defense allowed 263 yards on 47 attempts with three rushing touchdowns, and gave up 45 yards and three touchdowns through the air. The defense recovered one fumble.
Tyler Petermann led the rushing attack, gaining 48 yards on seven carries with one touchdown. Austin Clark added 35 yards on 12 carries.
Jesse Mayek completed one of eight passes for 14 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions. Skyler Lehman caught one pass for 14 yards.
The Truckers host Winneconne at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20.
