Boyers celebrate golden anniversary
Joyce and Jim Boyer celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with 185 family and friends at a dinner and reception on Saturday, June 26, at the Indian Crossing Casino in Waupaca.
Before the dinner, Rev. Kurt Klismet officiated as the couple renewed their wedding vows. All of the original wedding party were in attendance. The couple was married on June 25, 1960, at St. Bride’s Church in Chicago.
In addition to the Saturday evening reception, the Boyers invited 15 high school friends from Michigan, Illinois, Georgia and Texas to a boat tour of the Chain O’ Lakes on Friday afternoon. A hundred family and friends were also invited to a Friday night brat fry hosted by Deb and Steve Fenske; a golf scramble on Saturday morning, sponsored by Jan and Bob Boyer, and Gina and Tom Boyer; and a Wisconsin corn roast on Sunday afternoon at South Park in Waupaca.
