Fans will once again be able to vote in the Shawano Fans Fund in 2012
Mother Nature tried to take away a victory from Shawano Speedway on opening night when she brought cold temperatures. In that case racing action took the win. Mother Nature was back last weekend with even colder temperatures. This time Mother Nature took the win, forcing Shawano Speedway to cancel its racing program last weekend.
With the cancelation, I thought this would be a good opportunity to inform fans that the Shawano Fans Fund will be returning in 2012.
Another cold night of racing at Shawano Speedway
Once again, it wasn’t ideal racing weather at Shawano Speedway Saturday night, but the show did go on. Despite about 10 minutes of sprinkling which didn’t interrupt the racing program, the rain was avoided, but the cold weather was not.
I am a die-hard race fan and have attended races in many types of weather. That said, I am looking forward to a race night when there is warmer weather.

Unbelievable WISSOTA Late Model feature finish brings fans to their feet
The finish to the WISSOTA Late Model feature Saturday night at Shawano Speedway will be one that will be talked about for awhile.
For those of you who were not there to witness it, here is what happened. Justin Hirt took the lead at the drop of the green flag with Nick Anvelink and Troy Springborn in pursuit. Anvelink caught Hirt a couple of times during the race, but Hirt maintained his lead. Springborn also caught Anvelink a couple times, but couldn’t make the pass.
