City hires utility manager
Bohm Hagedorn began employment with the city on June 1 as the Interim Utility Manager. She fills the position previously held by Tom Geitner, overseeing the Electric, Water and Sewer utilities and will be paid an annual salary of $73,125.
Bohm Hagedorn has a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota. She also holds a Municipal Electric Utilities of Wisconsin Management Development Certificate, which she earned this year.
Bohm Hagedorn has worked as Product Manager for Alliant Energy, Marion, where some of her duties included developing new products and services for residential and small business customers, writing of business case (white) papers for executive approval, developing financial analysis, maintaining vendor relationships, interpreting code and regulatory statutes, cross-functional communications and regulatory management. She also managed two contracts for the delivery of energy efficiency services to residential customers that consists of vendor management, resolution of customer concerns, regulatory reporting and involvement with implementing state mandated public benefits.
While with Alliant, she managed the In Concert with the Environment program that consisted of staff hiring, staff supervision, budget management, creating advertisement materials, and tracking and reporting program results for both internal and external regulatory reporting. She also managed the Bright Ideas for Small Business and Bright Ideas for Your Rental Property programs that utilized the sales force as a delivery channel.
Bohm Hagedorn has also worked for Wisconsin Power and Light, Marion. In this position, she traveled to over 50 middle and high schools to implement environmental education program and worked directly with students in a classroom setting and on computers. She also performed energy audits for small commercial buildings and homes providing and processing rebate and financing programs, visited customers homes to provide estimates for natural gas extensions including external and internal piping costs and appliance conversion costs, performed home energy audits, and assisted income disadvantaged families with reducing energy expenses in the home.
Most recently, Bohm Hagedorn served as General Manager for Shawano Municipal Utilities. In this position, she was responsible for leading overall operations of the public electric and telecommunications utility for the City of Shawano; directing major technical and administrative work activities; monitoring construction projects; selecting and managing contractors and consultants; creating and managing annual budgets and long-range financial plans and investments; developing personnel policies and procedures; hiring, promoting, training, evaluating and disciplining employees; managing labor negotiations and labor contracts; working effectively with local, state and federal regulatory officials, city officials and department managers and peers; maintaining a visionary approach to develop, implement and expand services; creating promotional strategies and marketing campaigns; creating business plans; creating, enhancing, implementing and communicating the company vision and brand. Some of her duties included being the General Manager of Badger Power Marketing Authority, the wholesale purchaser of electricity for Shawano Municipal Utilities and Clintonville Water and Electric Utility.
