Scandinavia readers raise $207 for water causes
For each hour the children read, 75 cents was donated to Wisconsin organizations doing valuable and necessary work protecting our state's natural water resources.
This year 32 readers recorded 276 hours of reading in eight weeks. This resulted in the following:
•$63 donated to Wisconsin Trout Unlimited for the Waupaca Riverview Park Project.
•$69 donated to the Friends of the Little Wolf Headwaters for water monitoring equipment.
•$75 donated to The Nature Conservancy in Wisconsin for the Wild Rivers Legacy Forest.
Funding was made available for this program by the Scandinavia Public Library with assistance from a donation by the Premier Community Bank.
Congratulations to all the readers who took part in the 2010 Read to Make a Difference summer library program.
