Robbery reported at Stratton Drugs
Waupaca police were called to Stratton Drugs, 107 N. Main St., in response to a reported robbery shortly before 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 18. Employees told police that a woman entered the store demanding medication. She told the employees that she had a gun but she did not want to hurt anyone. Police chief Tim Goke said no gun was ever displayed during the incident. The suspect is described as a white female in her 40s or 50s, darkish red, possibly short hair, 5 feet 4 inches tall, thin, weighing about 125 pounds. Witnesses said the woman spoke like she was a heavy smoker. The woman was wearing an U.S. Army veteran baseball cap, big sunglasses similar to those provided by an eye doctor after an exam, a surgical mask, gray sweatshirt, dark green jacket, red elastic running pants. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact the Waupaca Police Department at 715-258-4400.

attention pharmacists-
if someone only implies that they have a gun... they don't have a gun.
if a robber has a gun... he will show it to you.
and if you give out drugs to any addict that demands them... you will get robbed with a pretend gun everyday. opiate addiction a growing problem and junkies are starting to figure out that- instead or robbing someone else and buying drugs on the street... its much easier just to rob the store that has the drugs they want.
so pharmacists... the next time someone tries to rob you with their finger- you need to grow a pair and ask to see the gun.
but they wont have one. because if they ever had a gun- they would have sold it for drugs long ago.

It could also mean that she was given a bottle of aspirins.

1) Assume everyone (in this state) who says they have a gun - has a gun.
2) As you may know, addicts are the most unstable people on the planet. You can't trust them to tell the truth about whether they have a gun, or whether they know how to use it, whether they can keep their finger steady on the trigger.
3) You don't need to take advice from (NYK) somebody who has never had a gun pointed at him, and is speaking from his "pair" and not from experience.
There are so many handguns in this state that it would be idiotic (and suicidal) to make presumptions about whether the threat is real or not.
For that matter, the addict should think about whether the pharmacist has a gun under the counter.
