Stores start ‘A Bloomin’ Good Time’
Area retailers have a new identity and new ideas. The name of the group is now Waupaca, King & In Between, reflecting the fact that retailers in the group represent Waupaca’s downtown, the west side of the city and King. Formerly, the group was called Retailers Roundtable. In the last year, they have done several projects. This spring, they are teaming up for "A Bloomin Good Time" which will begin on Thursday, May 10. On that day, the stores throughout the area will join a new initiative to stay open until 6 p.m. on Thursdays. Beginning that day, stores will put a flag out at 3 p.m. on each Thursday to make an impact and spur interest in the idea. The group has also set up a Facebook page with its new name, where individual stores will announce events. This spring, businesses will also be following the theme of "A Bloomin’ Good Time" by planting flowers outside of their stores. Many plan to plant the same flowers for a consistent effect.
