Berlin Crisis veterans sought
The Waupaca County Veterans Service Office is seeking information on Wisconsin National Guard members who were called into active federal service during the Berlin Crisis. There were a large number of local veterans called up with Company B of the 128th Infantry 32nd Division, which was the local Army Guard unit based out of Monroe at that time. This activation was in late 1961, and many of the men served in Ft. Lewis, Wash., for about a year. Those who are a veteran who was activated for the Berlin Crisis or who know of a veteran from that time, living or deceased, are asked to contact the Veterans Service Office at 715-258-6475.
