I-S to begin search for superintendent
The Iola-Scandinavia School Board discussed the recruitment process for a new superintendent at a special meeting Wednesday, June 6. Joe Price will vacate the position effective June 30. Dennis Richards, a consultant with the Wisconsin Association of School Boards, is assisting the board with their search. He discouraged the board from attempting to fill the position this fall and walked them through a four-month recruitment process. Richards suggested that the board immediately start a search for an interim superintendent, saying that this will in turn get the word out that Iola-Scandinavia School District has a vacancy. Price recommended Tess Wojcik as acting superintendent until an interim can be found, as she holds the certifications required for the position. If the district decides to use Richards’ services, the cost will be a minimum of $6,000 and a maximum of $8,500. "We work hard at putting good people in the right places," Richards said. "We don’t want school boards to settle for anything less than what they are looking for."

Can anything happen in this county without hiring a consultant? ANYTHING?
Just put an ad in the paper and offer the $6,000 as a signing bonus.

Yes, lastinfantile, that's where all the top executives look for work these days. Also, might as well have every member of the school board put up flyers at the IGA, Crystal Cafe, the laundromats, the entrance to the bowling alley. Make sure they put those little pull tabs at the bottom so interested candidates can remember the phone number they should call.
My advice...spend less time worrying about getting your comment onto every single story possible and more time making sure those damn kids stay off your lawn.

Exaggerate much?

If you can't recognize sarcasm, you should stop commenting.
I'm sure a tie-wearing job is beyond your scope of experience, but superintendent in a 750-student district is not a "top executive". In fact, the position should probably be reclassified to "Business Manager".
Strangely, the I-S school district doesn't list "School Superintendent" on a webpage dedicated to employment opportunities in the district. I guess if you have 6,000 taxpayer dollars to spend, why make use of FREE resources.
