South Main construction update
Waupaca County Highway Department crews are scheduled to pave the final layer of asphalt on Waupaca’s South Main Street, starting on Tuesday, July 24. Weather permitting, crews will begin that day by the Waupaca Post Office. The paving of South Main Street is anticipated to be completed by Wednesday, July 25. Final paving work will then proceed on Lakeside Parkway, from South Main Street to U.S. Highway 10. While paving, the roadways will be closed to traffic. Prior to paving, the roadways to be paved each day will have a liquid asphalt application placed on them to help the asphalt adhere to the previous layer. Do not drive or walk on the asphalt material as it will track the liquid asphalt. Homeowners in the area of the project are encouraged to continue parking on side streets until the final paving work is completed. Pavement striping will follow the roadway paving.
