No injuries in Weyauwega fire
Area fire departments assisted the Weyauwega Fire Department on Thursday, July 26 in responding to a fire at Performance Industrial Products. The business is located at 512 N. Mill St. Dan Nehring, Weyauwega’s assistant fire chief, said there were no injuries in the fire. The Weyauwega Fire Department received the page at 11:16 a.m. Initial reports were of fire and smoke showing in the rear of the building from overflowing metal in a melt furnace. All employees were accounted for, and Weyauwega’s department was assisted by the Waupaca Fire Department, Fremont Fire Department, Waupaca/Weyauwega Ambulance, Weyauwega Police Department and the Waupaca County Sheriff’s Department. Nehring’s report stated that there was some damage to the furnace and rear wall and ceiling of the structure. Fire units were on scene for approximately two hours.
