Student council sponsors paper drive
The Waupaca High School Student Council will sponsor a Waupaca Community Paper Drive this fall. It will be held from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at the Waupaca Middle School parking lot. The student council is sponsoring the "green" event as a way to raise funds for school events, clubs and charitable donations and to bring the school and community together to improve the sustainability of the environment. The students ask area residents to start saving their paper now for the upcoming paper drive. Items people may bring to the paper drive include newspaper, construction paper, computer paper, books, magazines, paper with staples, corrugated cardboard, cereal boxes(with wax lining out) and tissue boxes. Tissues, paper towels, paper napkins, waxed paper, tin foil and paper or waxes boxes that contained food particles or juice will not be accepted. Other objects that do not belong in recycling bins are plastic silverware, straws, juice boxes, dry erase markers, food items, mittens, crayons, erasers, pencils, scissors, pens, paper plates, Styrofoam utensils, hats, plastic bags and soda bottles.
