US 45 improvements to begin June 28

June 17, 2010 | 0 comments

CLINTONVILLE - The reconstruction of US 45 between Reinke Rd. and CTH I is scheduled to begin on June 28. A representative from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation will be on hand to answer questions and provide more information at a meeting on Thursday, June 24, from 4-6 p.m. at the Common Council chamber in City Hall. A brief presentation outlining the $2.8 million contract will be given.

"We're very pleased that this was awarded," said Clintonville Public Works Manager Mike McCord. "Pre-construction projects are moving forward. The city's portion is on schedule."

Crews will reconstruct the highway. Improvements include a raised median, left-turn lanes and a multi-use recreational path. During construction, US 45 will remain open to one lane in each direction. Motorists can expect to encounter flagging operations. Construction is scheduled for completion by the end of October 2010.
