Providing ingredients for a healthy lifestyle
The store has a vast array of organic foods, herbal teas, spices, healthy snacks, produce, and soon will offer natural beef, lamb, and chicken products, all locally raised. There is a line of Gluten-free foods, and nothing in the whole store is genetically modified. She will "not accept any genetically altered foods through my doors."
Everything you could possibly need to start a healthier lifestyle is here, whether a person has diabetes, heart condition, allergies, obesity, a number of health issues, or is just wanting to create a healthy environment for themselves and their families.
Peterson is an herbalist who is concentrating her efforts on the store becoming "a health and wellness center." She conducts one-on-one consultations for each person individually, as "no two people are exactly alike." She assesses each person on an individual basis, what their needs and health concerns are, and tailors a plan to suit their changing lifestyle.
These intuitive readings are to figure out the healthy imbalances in a person's body, and then a unique course is created individually for better food choices and gradual changes to help deal with weight loss, emotional issues, or any disease/condition that a person might be suffering with.
Sessions are conducted every Wednesday, by appointment only. The session will last approximately an hour to an hour and a half, with the first visit costing $50, and follow-up visits to keep you on track are $30 per visit. She takes a holistic view of life and believes in the mind, body, spirit connection. She states, "The body has the ability to heal or fix itself, you just have to give it the right tools."
Each month Natural Remedies offers a guest speaker. July's guest will be a Clairvoyant named Gayla Sintow, who will offer a seminar on "Life after Life." It will be held in the store's basement classroom 6-8:30 p.m. July 29. There is limited seating, so interested parties should call to reserve a seat, although payment of $25 for the seminar will need not be paid until that night. Women's Health Day will be in September, and movie nights offering family friendly information and education on healthy lifestyles are also an available resource. There will also be a variety of organic family snacks to sample throughout the evening.
Peterson has her own informative radio show every first Wednesday of the month on 96.5 FM and 960 AM entitled, "Healthy Talk with Jen." It is a Dr. Oz-like 15 minute segment, and can also be heard on the first Saturday of every month at 7:45 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on 92.3 FM.
The store hours are M-F 9-6 and Saturday 9-4. The first Saturday of every month everything in the store is 10 percent off. Inquiries or questions can be e-mailed directly to Jenny at JensnaturalRemedies@yahoo.com or by simply calling the store at 823-6040. The store's informational website is Jensnaturalremedies.com.
