A free Garden Walk and Art Show will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, June 27, at the Randy and Carolyn Rosenberger residence near Iola and at Labisch Gardens in Scandinavia.
Hundreds of people have visited the Labisch Gardens over the past eight years. The garden features an all-season mix of bulbs, bushes, perennials and annuals. There are over 350 different varieties of hosta, including over 60 miniature hosta. Hidden in the garden are over 50 winged angels and fairies.
The five-acre Rosenberger garden displays 13 metal sculptures and 10 water features among an array of annuals, perennials, flowering bushes, shrubs and bulbs. This year's art show includes 12 artisans, with several demonstrating their talents.
The products of creative work and artisans include: Wooden lawn ornaments by Dianne and Lyle Halfman, handmade Victorian soaps and body butter by Lynn Groeschl, watercolors by Arlene Heig, pottery by Vincent Heig, hand-woven baskets by Barb Johnson, wood sculptures by Merlin Mayer, photography by Holly Neumann, woodcarvings by Lee Nelson, turned wooden bowls and decorative gourds by Dale Remington, photography by Randy Rosenberger, watercolors by Carolyn Rosenberger, and greeting cards and paintings by Jean Sandrock.
Labisch Gardens is located at E963 Nottleson Road, off of County Road G between Iola and Scandinavia. Rosenbergers are located at N8074Hatch Lake Road, off of County Road G north of Iola.
