Trail, asbestos removal, truck discussed by School Board
A project at the Browns Woods Trail, an asbestos removal project at Dellwood, and a pickup truck/snowplow were the topics of discussion at the Clintonville Public School District Board of Education meeting on Monday, July 12.Instructor Greg Rose reported that students have been working daily on the Browns Woods Trail, conducting research while also blazing a trail. Rose reported that the trail was nearly ready to be mowed and that students have been working with excavators to bring in gravel for the trail. He said students will also fundraise the $1,200 cost to bring in the gravel.
"The kids have great motivation," Rose stated. "They are really excited to make a difference."
Building and Grounds Director Steve Reinke reported that an asbestos removal project at the Dellwood facility will cost around $19,000 and would be completed by the end of August. The board approved his recommendation to proceed with the project.
The board also approved the purchase of a pickup truck/snowplow from Clintonville Motors. The 2011 Ford F250 was purchased at a cost of $26,881.
The board tabled an item seeking approval of the administrative/supervisory salaries for 2010-11.
The board also approved the agenda for the Budget Hearing and Annual Meeting to be held Aug. 23. The regular meeting will be held at 6 p.m., with the Budget Hearing at 6:30 p.m. and the Annual Meeting at 6:45. The meetings will be held at the Clintonville High School Auditorium.
