Sweet Medicine Prescriptions Plus of Iola recently donated a Pet Saver oxygen kit to the Iola & Rural Fire Department.
The donation will allow fire and EMS personnel to administer oxygen to pets that have been overcome by smoke. The Pet Saver will be kept in the department's rescue truck.
The kit contains oxygen masks designed to fit over the animal's nose. Also in the kit is an Ambu Bag, which allows emergency personnel to pump oxygen into the animal. Pictured with the new Pet Saver Kit l to R are (left to right) Shelly Schroepfer, Carrie Snyder and Jim Irish.
