Big Hearts from a Small Town
The New London Girls' Youth Basketball Association (NLGYBA) recently sponsored a shirt sale celebrating the New London Lady Bulldogs back-to-back State Championship Titles.
The theme of the shirts, "Big Hearts from a Small Town," was fashioned by one of the coaches to inspire the team during the Championship game after their opponent, New Berlin Eisenhower, was labeled the favorite to win it all
Two of the Lady Bulldogs, Bridget Pethke and Tara Knapstein, have been selected to play in the WBCA Senior All-Star game this summer and were asked to raise a minimum of $500 each to support the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer. Fund
Keeping with the "Big Hearts from a Small Town" theme, all proceeds from the shirt sale were donated to the MACC Fund through the girls' fundraising efforts. The NLGYBA sold over 550 shirts and Bridget and Tara each received $1,000 towards their MACC Fund donation.
