Community invited to Thanksgiving Dinner
The community is invited to attend the annual free Thanksgiving Day Dinner sponsored by Msgr. Loerke Council No. 1922 Knights of Columbus with the assistance of the community. This is the 34th annual dinner for all area persons who do not have a place to share a meal that day. Takeout meals can also be reserved for pickup, but no home delivery is available.
The dinner is scheduled for Thanksgiving Day Thursday November 24th at the Clintonville Community Center, 30 S. Main Street, with the family style dinner served starting at 11:30 am. There is no cost to attend, although donations are accepted. Reservations should be made by calling the Clintonville Community Center at 823-7667.
A traditional holiday menu is planned including roast turkey, baked ham, potatoes, stuffing, cranberries, two vegetables, coleslaw, bread, beverages and homemade pies for dessert.
The cost of the dinner is funded by proceeds from a raffle conducted by the Knights of Columbus during this time and by various donations from the community.
The Knights are seeking persons willing to donate homemade pumpkin and mincemeat pies. Anyone willing to do so is asked to call Dick Writt's office at 823-7660 or his home at 823-6477 and leave their name plus the number and kind of pies they will donate.
Volunteers are also needed for all aspects of the event. Persons willing to help with the food preparation or who want to make a food donation (other than the pies) should contact Rick Rauterkus at 250-0262. Volunteers willing to help setup, serve the meal and clean up after the meal are asked to contact Dick Writt at the numbers above.
