DECA raises more than $700 to support MDA
The New London High School DECA Chapter raised $727.90 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Muscular Dystrophy is a genetic disorder that weakens the muscles that help the body move.
The DECA Chapter held three Miracle Minutes to raise money. The first one was at a football game in September, another at a boys' basketball game in December and the final one at a girls' basketball game in January. A Miracle Minute is when DECA students run around the stands during halftime of the game for one minute collecting as much change as possible.
All the proceeds went to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. Their goal was to raise enough money to send a child with Muscular Dystrophy to summer camp, and with great support this was achieved.
