Durrant to lead First Responders
The Village Board recently appointed Paula Durrant interim captain of the Scandinavia First Responders .
The appointment is subject to the approval of the Scandinavia Town Board.
Durrant replaces Tangie Karpinski, who recently resigned as captain of the First Responders.
The village board discussed the reorganization of the First Responders and agreed to transfer the volunteer checking account balance to the village checking account until such time as the captain and lieutenant's offices have been filled.
An agreement outlining the details of enforcement of village ordinances by the Waupaca County Sheriff's Department was approved.
Ron Davis was appointed to serve as a trustee on the board of directors for the Scandinavia Public Library. Davis had been recommended by Library Director Sue Vater Olson.
The board agreed to deposit $100,000 of sewer funds in a 15-month certificate of deposit at Community First Credit Union.
Other matters discussed included progress of the Smart Growth implementation project, purchasing generators for the Scandinavia Municipal Center, Silver Lake grant application and the Jorgen's Park project.
