Freshmen Academy to hold event
The New London High School Freshmen Academy has invited soon-to-be ninth grade students and their parents to New London High School's Future Freshmen and Parents' Night. The event will be held in the New London High School auditorium on Monday, May 14, and will begin at 6 p.m.
"The transition from eighth grade to high school is a significant shift in a student's educational career. In an effort to make your sons or daughters ninth grade transition a success, we encourage all future freshmen and their parents to attend," said Pam Steiger, dean of students for the New London High School Freshmen Academy.
At Future Freshmen and Parents Nights, students and parents will:
• be introduced to the New London High School Freshmen Academy;
• learn about many courses freshmen take and meet many of their teachers;
• be "handed the keys" to succeed in the Freshmen Academy and beyond;
• find out more about what New London High School has to offer them, including career academies, co-curricular activities, clubs, and organizations; and
• have the opportunity to have their questions answered and walk through the Freshmen Academy and the rest of the high school.
For more information, contact Steiger at 982-8420 ext. 1013 or email her at psteiger@newlondon.k12.wi.us.
