Kat Trio to perform at Parfreyville UMC
The Kat Trio will perform at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 29, at Parfreyville United Methodist Church.
The violin-clarinet-piano ensemble was started by three friends in Ekaterinburg, Russia. They had recently graduated from the Ural State Music Conservatory.
Today, two of the original members, Victoria Gorbich on violin and Vladislav Goribich on clarinet, are joined by Julie Page on piano.
The Gorbichs are doctoral graduates of Arizona State University and Page is a doctoral candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
They are touring as artists-in-residence with Wisconsin Public Radio and the Chazen Museum of Art. Their concert will feature classical works, inspirational songs and some American pop standards, such as Scott Joplin's ragtime tunes.
The concert is free and open to the public. A free will offering will be collected.
