Local elections in April
Candidates from Clintonville, New London and Manawa have turned in papers and will run for election to the city governments and school boards in their respective districts.
Voters will cast ballots in the spring election on Tuesday, April 3. A list of candidates for each respective district and municipality is as follows (only contested races are listed):
New London City Council
Aldermanic District 2: Mary Tate (incumbent); Fred Zaug
New London School Board
There are three open seats and four candidates seeking election. Incumbents include Connie Neely, Jeremy Gorges and John Michels. Also running is James Auer.
Clintonville City Council
Aldermanic District 2: Gloria Dunlavy (incumbent); Kevin Grunewald
Clintonville School Board
There are three open seats and four candidates seeking election. Incumbents include Clyde Tellock, Jim Dins and Pat Schley. Also running is Lori Martin.
Manawa City Council
Third Ward: A one-year seat and a two-year seat are open, as neither incumbent filed papers. Incumbent Joel Bonikowske took papers out but did not file them by the deadline. Lincoln O'Brien did not take out papers and did not indicate a non-candidacy.
Since Bonikowski and O'Brien did not submit nomination papers by the deadline and nobody else did either, nobody will be listed on the ballot for the Third Ward. Whoever gets the most write-in votes will win those seats.
Manawa School Board
No contested elections.
