Manawa FFA Alumni seeks new members
Manawa FFA Alumni is a nonprofit fundraising organization supporting the Manawa FFA and the Agriculture Program. The FFA Alumni is currently seeking new members.
Membership is not limited to former FFA members, but is open to all who are interested in the activities of the local FFA/Ag program.
The FFA Alumni support the local FFA by offering scholarships to graduating seniors. It has awarded $4,400 in the past three years. It also provides the bus for the World Dairy Expo trip and offers cost sharing for the purchase of new FFA jackets. It also pays a portion of the cost for FFA members going to the National Convention, as well as helps with classroom needs.
Agriculture instructor/FFA Advisor, Sandy Cordes has built a successful program with several FFA members receiving state and national recognition.
Membership to the Alumni is $20 per year. Meetings are held quarterly. There are three main fundraisers. The first is a bluegrass dinner and dance, which is scheduled for Nov. 5 at Bear Lake Resort. There is also an annual nut and bolt sale with Joe Fritch of J.R. Shop Supplies, selling high quality nut and bolt supplies, tools and equipment to farms and businesses within our school district, and working in the rodeo food stand.
