WAUPACA – Marty Finkler, an economics professor at Lawrence University in Appleton, will speak at 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 8, at the Waupaca Area Public Library.
Sponsored by the Winchester Academy, Finkler’s presentation is free and open to the public.
He will discuss the current economic recession and compare it with the Great Depression of the 1930s. Finkler will review the similarities and differences between the two events in terms of their effect on the national economy and on the lives of Americans.
Finkler has spoken previously at Winchester Academy on the rising costs of health care and the real meaning of the national debt.
Due to the library’s reduced hours, Winchester Academy will start earlier than usual. The program begins promptly at 6 p.m.
