Brehmer charged with drug distribution
Amanda J. Brehmer, 22, Waupaca, was charged Oct. 20 with felony distribution of amphetamines.
According to the criminal complaint, Brehmer and Joshua A. Collins, 21, went to the Waupaca Police Department on Sept. 4 to report the theft of Brehmer's prescription medications.
Brehmer told Officer Diana Flatoff that she had recently obtained a refill on her prescription of Vyvanse, an amphetamine used to treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Brehmer reportedly said she had placed the drugs in a plastic bag and placed them in a kitchen cabinet.
Later, she had gone to Burger King with her boyfriend, while Collins remained at the house to watch her 2-year-old child. Brehmer reportedly accused a Dylan S. Nyman, 20, of stealing some of the medications.
When Flatoff spoke with Collins, he said he saw Nyman place something in his pocket, according to the criminal complaint. He also told Flatoff that Brehmer had given him five Vyvanse pills in exchange for babysitting for her between May and July.
Nyman denied taking any of the pills, but reportedly said Brehmer had sold him pills in the past.
Collins and Nyman were both charged on Oct. 20 with misdemeanor possession of amphetamines.
Brehmer faces up to 12 years in prison if convicted of distribution of amphetamines.
