Charges filed in Iola burglary, thefts
The Waupaca County District Attorney's office filed a second burglary complaint against Jordan R. Dasko, 25, Iola.
He is accused of stealing copper tubing from the propane tank in the town of Harrison and multiple metal objects from a farm north of Iola.
Also charged in the incidents are Garrett J. Bryan, 19, Rosholt, who faces one count each of burglary and theft, and Shelby L. Bemowski, 19, Iola, who was charged with misdemeanor theft.
In early October, the Waupaca County Sheriff's Department began investigating the theft of more than 25 feet of copper tubing that ran from a propane tank to a home on Comet Road. A deer camera on the property captured two photos of the suspects. One of the pictures showed a man and woman on the property, while the other showed a man holding a piece of copper pipe. The two people were identified as Dasko and Bemowski.
Detective sergeants Robert karski and John Macadlo went to Dasko and Bemowski's home and questioned them about why they showed up on the photos.
According to the criminal complaint, Bemowski said they had been at the house looking at it because it was for sale.
Dasko later admitted to taking the copper tubing, the complaint says. He also described a break-in at a barn on State Highway 49 north of Iola. He said he and Bryan had taken an arc welder and a comic book from the barn.
Karski contacted the owners of the property. They inspected a shed where they found that, in addition to the welder, a box of wrenches, a vice, a hay knife and a sickle, steel wheels and other metal items were stolen. The radiators had been also pulled from four old vehicles.
The residents also discovered that a photo and collection of military service medals inside a metal-framed display had been stolen.
