Felony drug, concealed weapon, charges filed against teen
Jesse D. Hartmann, 19, Clintonville, was charged with felony possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, felony theft, carrying a concealed weapon and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.
At approximately 12:45 p.m. Friday, April 20, Deputy Nick Traeger was eastbound on East Main Street in the village of Embarrass when he noticed that the passenger in a white Chevy he was behind kept looking back at him. He continued to follow the vehicle as it pulled into a BP station on West Main Street.
Traeger detected the apparent aroma of marijuana and noticed that the driver, identified as Hartmann, had red eyes.
Traeger reported finding a pot pipe and brass knuckles that allegedly belonged to Hartmann. The officer also found a large zip-lock plastic bag with about nine smaller plastic bags, each containing about 4.3 grams of marijuana, in the car's center console, according to the criminal complaint.
In a metal box in the trunk of the car, Traeger found a loaded Beretta handgun and 36 rounds of 9 mm ammunition. The serial number of the gun came back as stolen.
A pot pipe and a pot grinder were found in the coat pocket of the passenger, Cory W. Dudevoire, 21, Marion. Dudevoire faces misdemeanor pot and paraphernalia charges.
