Felony OWI charged
Melissa A. Bernarde, 42, Shawano, was charged with felony drunken driving and operating after revocation.
On May 20, Clintonville police received a report that a white vehicle hit a traffic light pole, then left the scene.
Sgt. Andrew Hopfensperger was responding to the scene when he saw a car matching the description of the report. There was also damage to the car's front end, so he pulled it over.
The driver, identified as Benarde, had three prior convictions for drinking and driving. Her license had been revoked for four years in April 2011.
According to the criminal complaint, Bernarde had a 0.16 blood-alcohol level.
