Felony pot charges filed
Aaron A. Gibson, 32, New London, was charged Nov. 28 with attempted possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
In December 2010, a parcel delivery company contacted the state Division of Narcotics Enforcement and reported that a package addressed to Gibson contained more than a pound of suspected marijuana.
Special Agent Steven Lewis delivered the box to the address, and Gibson's brother-in-law, who was living there, signed for it.
A few minutes later, state agents executed a search warrant and seized the package.
According to the criminal complaint, Gibson told investigators that he planned to share some of the marijuana with family and friends and sell the rest to pay bills.
He faces up to three years in prison if convicted of felony possession with intent.
