Gartzke faces narcotics charge

Oct. 26, 2011 | 0 comments

Tammy J. Gartzke, 33, Clintonville, was charged Oct. 17 with felony possession of narcotics and theft.

On June 21, Waupaca County Sheriff's Deputy Pete Bosquez spoke with a social worker at Pine Manor Health Care Center in Clintonville. She said Gartzke had visited her mother on June 18. During a routine patient check a short time later, staff had found the mother's Fentanyl patch in her hair. The patch, which delivers a narcotic pain reliever through the skin, had been placed on the mother's back in a place she could not reach.

According to the criminal complaint, Gartzke visited her mother again two days later. When staff checked on the mother, the patch was missing.

When Bosquez spoke with Gartzke about the incidents, Gartzke reportedly accused the staff of trying to set her up because she had complained about them two months earlier.

Gartzke faces up to three years in prison if convicted of narcotics possession.
