More charges filed against Edwards
David L. Edwards, 43, New London, was charged with retail theft and felony bail jumping.
On Dec. 2, New London Police Officer Brady Peterson spoke with a woman who reported that Edwards had taken a black plaid jacket from Wal-Mart soon after he had been released from jail, at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29.
Peterson went to Wal-Mart and found that black plaid jackets were sold there. He met with a store manager and reviewed security camera videos from Nov. 29. On the videos, Edwards was seen at 12:19 p.m. walking into the store wearing a red cap and a red T-shirt. Ten minutes later, he is seen walking toward the exit wearing a red and black jacket.
Edwards currently has six pending criminal cases in Waupaca County Circuit Court.
On Sept. 20, he was charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct and released from custody on a $500 signature bond.
On Sept. 26, Edwards was charged with burglary, battery, criminal trespass and misdemeanor bail jumping. He was released on a $2,000 signature bond.
On Sept. 30, Edwards was charged with felony bail jumping and released on a $2,000 signature bond.
On Oct. 13, Edwards was charged with criminal damage to property, criminal trespass and two counts of felony bail jumping. Judge Raymond Huber ordered a $500 cash bond and Edwards remained in custody.
On Oct. 19, Huber amended the bond to a $500 cash bond or a $2,000 signature bond co-signed by Edward's sister. Edwards remained in custody.
On Oct. 24, Edwards was charged with eight counts of receiving stolen property. The offense allegedly took place on Oct. 13.
On Nov. 29. Judge Philip Kirk amended the bond to a $2,000 signature bond. Edwards is alleged to have committed a crime within two hours of his release from custody.
