Pomerenke charged with felony OWI
WAUPACA - Michael W. Pomerenke, 32, Scandinavia, was charged with a fourth drunken driving offense. Because a minor was allegedly in the vehicle at the time of the incident, Pomerenke faces a felony charge. He was also charged with operating after revocation.
At approximately 1 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, Waupaca Police Officer Josh Krueger was westbound on West Fulton Street when he saw a sign that had been posted on the center island lying in the eastbound turn lane from U.S. Highway 10. The wood post had been broken off and shards of wood were in the road.
Krueger suspected a hit-and-run, so he inspected the area for vehicle parts and found a hub cap on the north shoulder.
Krueger then drove west to the Mobil truck stop, where he saw a blue Chevy missing one of its hubcaps.
He spoke with the driver, Pomerenke, while two teenaged girls went inside the restaurant.
According to the criminal complaint, Pomerenke denied being involved in an accident and denied drinking. While Krueger was questioning Pomerenke and the girls, Waupaca County Sheriff's Deputy Dan Lewinski went back to the scene and found a driver's side mirror that was consistent with one that appeared to have been broken off Pomerenke's vehicle.

Guy doesn't admit he was driving and the whole crash isn't on video.
Yup, this will get dropped. Waupaca County doesn't prosecute on good old fashioned police work. Beyond a reasonable doubt doesn't apply over no confession in this county.
