Rohloff charged with felony bail jumping
Keith A. Rohloff, 25, New London, was charged Oct. 17 with felony bail jumping.
On Feb. 16, Rohloff appeared in court on 14 counts of burglary, theft and criminal damage to property, as well as a separate domestic abuse case of battery and disorderly conduct.
Rohloff was initially held on a $2,500 cash bond. His bond was amended on March 2 to a $2,500 signature bond cosigned by his parents. He was released from custody with the conditions that he remain at his parents' home except when at work and that he not consume any alcohol.
On July 27, Rohloff was convicted of one felony count of burglary, while all the theft and criminal damage charges were dismissed and read into the record as part of a plea deal. He was also convicted of the misdemeanor battery charge. Rohloff was scheduled for sentencing on Oct. 24, and the conditions of his bond remained in effect.
Shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, New London police were dispatched to C&R Waterfront Bar in response to a reported fight. When the police arrived, the fight was over. However, Officer Todd Sarazin noticed Rohloff standing with a group of people in a nearby parking lot. He followed Rohloff to the Festival Foods parking lot and arrested him. Rohloff tested for a 0.2 blood-alcohol level, according to the criminal complaint.
He faces up to six years in prison if convicted of felony bail jumping.
