Second suspect charged in 2006 home invasion
Joshua B. Detterbeck, 30, Addison, Ill., was charged Monday, July 30, with two counts of armed robbery, two counts of false imprisonment, reckless endangerment and armed burglary. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
Detterbeck is the second suspect to be charged for the home invasion that occurred in the town of Dayton in April 2006.
On the evening of Sunday, April 30, 2006, two men wearing hooded sweatshirts entered the home of Thomas and Helen Halverson and demanded money from them.
During the incident, the Halversons were forced down onto the floor and their hands and feet bound with duct tape. Thomas Halverson, who is in his 60s, was injured after being kicked several times in the head and back. He was also cut in the hand when he struggled with the men.
Ben M. Trauger, 28, Appleton, was charged April 30, 2012, with armed robbery, armed burglary, false imprisonment and reckless endangerment for his alleged role in the incident. He is accused of driving the other two men to the Halverson's home and waiting for them in the car.
A third suspect, who has not been charged at this time, is currently in state prison because his extended supervision from a 2007 felony conviction in Outagamie County was revoked in June 2012.
