Waupaca man charged with felony OWI
Brian J. Hejda, 34, Waupaca, was charged with felony drunken driving and operating after revocation.
On May 13, Waupaca County Sheriff's Deputy Jon Loken was on County Road QQ near Pryse Road in the town of Farmington when he observed a speeding vehicle. According to the criminal complaint, Loken clocked the vehicle at 51 mph in a 35 mph zone.
Loken made a traffic stop and noticed that the driver, identified as Hejda, had red, watery eyes and smelled of alcohol.
A preliminary breath test indicated that Hejda had a 0.173 blood-alcohol level.
Hejda was previously convicted of drunken driving offenses in June 1995, December 2001, June 2007 and March 2010, when he was sentenced to 150 days in jail.
