Wohlrabe charged with burglary
Jesse J. Wohlrabe, 25, Readfield, returned to court Wednesday, Dec. 28, on charges of burglary, theft, negligent operation of a vehicle and felony bail jumping.
This is the second burglary case to be filed against Wohlrabe in less than a month.
On Nov. 30, Wohlrabe was charged with burglary, theft, criminal damage to property and possession of burglarious tools. The charges stemmed from a break-in that occurred on Nov. 28 in the town of Fremont. Wohlrabe was released from custody on a $3,000 signature bond.
On Dec. 13, Wohlrabe appeared in court and entered not guilty pleas to the charges stemming from the Nov. 28 burglary. The signature bond was continued.
On Dec. 16, Waupaca County Sheriff's Deputy Nick Traeger was dispatched to a home on Dey Road in the town of Mukwa. He met with the owner, who said when he came home he found a red Chevy S-10 pickup truck parked behind some junk vehicles in the driveway. He pulled behind the truck, then saw a stranger coming out of his house with some of his power tools.
The homeowner confronted the stranger, who apologized, put down the tools and said it wouldn't happen again. When the homeowner went inside to call the police, the stranger began to drive away in his truck. The homeowner attempted to stop him, but the stranger allegedly gunned his engine and attempted to run him over.
Traeger had investigated the Nov. 28 burglary and arrested Wohlrabe after spotting him at a gas station in his red Chevy S-10. Traeger reported seeing Wohlrabe in his red truck on County W near Manske Road about 30 minutes prior to dispatch contacting him about the Dec. 16 burglary.
The homeowner on Dey Road reported that three rings, coins from a change jar and prescription drugs were missing after the incident.
Investigators were able to trace the missing items to a pawn shop in Grand Chute. The pawn shop identified the man who brought in the items as Wohlrabe.
On Dec. 28, Judge Raymond Huber set a $2,500 cash bond as a condition of Wohlrabe's release. He currently remains in custody.

His "cash bond" was changed again to a “signature bond” on the 3rd and he was again RELEASED.
Can someone help me understand how someone can get arrested for burglary,
Get out on a $3000 signature bond only to commit another burglary while out on bond,
Get re-arrested, and then eventually get out on a LOWER signature bond? What the hell?
If he keeps offending will his bond get even lower? What about the bond his "valuable"
Signature already signed for? Will it ever be collected?
This is crazy. Time to think about moving.
