Description:
The Wolf River Area Healthcare Foundation will hold a free workshop to provide information on living wills, medical and healthcare documents, and estate and financial planning. The workshop, sponsored by First State Bank, is designed for individuals who wish to provide for their families beyond their lifetimes. It will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thurs., May 3, at the Masonic Center in Manawa. A complimentary lunch will be served. This free estate planning seminar will include presentations by Chad Backes, First State Investment Center; Marion attorney Mike Meyer; Chuck Hartzheim, Herrling Clark Law Firm; Kent Rusch, Cline-Hansen Funeral Home; and Deborah Johnson, Wolf River Area Healthcare Foundation. Each participant will receive a complimentary package of valuable reference materials to assist with their own estate planning. Participants will learn to: • Understand their legal rights regarding future medical care and treatment; • Identify and use the necessary advanced directive documents; • Provide security for family and loved ones; • Trusts, including funeral trusts; • Designate an estate manager; • Reduce estate taxes and administrative expenses; • Use a will or trust to benefit family; • Include charitable gifts as desired in their plans.
