Friday night car shows

Manawa hosts weekly event in July

By Holly Neumann

The Manawa Revitalization Committee will host Friday Night Car Shows from 5-8 p.m., during the month of July.

The cars will be on the corner of Union and Bridge streets, in Manawa.

“This is just a nice event to bring people to town and visit our businesses,” said Eugene Much, who heads the Car Show Committee.

The event will kick off with All-American Day on July 5, followed by Block Party on July 12.

Back to the ‘50s will take place on July 19.

A DJ will play, with visitors asked to dress the part as prizes will be awarded.

Cruise Night on July 26 will be the final night of the show.

The Rejects will perform, and all cars will cruise through town.

All nights are open to anything on wheels, from classic cars and trucks to hot rods, rat rods and motorcycles.

Show car entry will take place on Second Street each night.

Each night, two awards will be given for Best of Show.

One will be picked by the public, and the other by people showing their cars.

Concessions will be available.

The event is free of charge and open to the public.
