Keenan’s Corner meets weekly

Support group for families of addicts

Keenan’s Corner continues to meet from 6-8 p.m. each Wednesday, at ThedaCare Medical Center-Waupaca.

Kennan Morgan started the support group in February with the help of ThedaCare.

The support group is for the family members of addicts and meets in the Chain O’ Lakes Room.

The room is located on the second floor.

Initially, the group met from 6-7 p.m. each week.

Due to the number of people attending the support group, it now meets from 6-8 p.m.

Between 30 and 35 people are regularly attending Keenan’s Corner, Morgan said.

Each week, there is a guest speaker.

Morgan started the support group because he saw the need to help and support the families of addicts.

Keenan’s Corner is free and open to the public, with no need to sign up in advance.

In addition to running the support group, Morgan is also a certified recovery coach.

A recovery coach serves as a personal guide and mentor for those seeking or already in long-term recovery from an addiction to alcohol or other drugs.

Those interested in receiving individual alcohol and drug addiction recovery coaching sessions may contact Morgan at 715-252-4164 for an appointment.
